Caryotype

Heparinized blood, 10ml

Sample receipt in the laboratory only Mon. - Fri., Fridays by 10:00 a.m. at the latest (blood collection Mon. - Thurs.) The sample must be sent immediately for reasons of stability (stability at room temperature approx. 24 hours).

To create a karyotype, the blood cells are first cultivated. The chromosomes are then stained in metaphase and examined under a light microscope. Detected anomalies can provide information on hereditary diseases.

Note: In order for the analysis to be carried out, a completed consent form must be available. This is a genetic examination.
