Disease-specific gene panels on request (high-throughput sequencing)
Material & Volume
EDTA Blood, 4-8 ml
Notes: A signed informed consent form for genetic testing and prior approval for cost coverage are required.
Clinical information
In addition to the standard panels listed, customised gene panels can also be analysed upon request. The list of genes to be analysed is defined according to the clinical indication and may include individual genes or a comprehensive selection of clinically relevant genes associated with specific diseases. Each panel is tailored to the individual patient in consultation with the referring physician.
A written test request and a valid informed consent form are required before testing can be performed. Both documents must clearly specify the clinical indication or disease under investigation, as well as the specific genes to be analysed.
Genetic testing must be ordered in accordance with the requirements of the List of Analyses (AL) issued by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). Gene panel analyses comprising up to 10 genes may be ordered by medical specialists in the relevant clinical field, provided that the conditions specified in the List of Analyses are met. For gene panels comprising more than 10 genes, an order from a specialist in medical genetics (FMH) is generally required under the List of Analyses.
For testing known familial variants when a genetic test report from a family member is available: test request profile 20362.
